Warning Description: Winter Storm Warning

Warning Date: 4:15 PM EST on February 1, 2015

WarningSum:...Winter Storm Warning Remains In Effect Until 7 Am Est Monday...

Warning Message:Hazardous weather...
 * heavy snow will occur during the late afternoon and continue through
   the evening.
 * Northeast wind increasing to gusts around 30 mph will add 
   substantial blowing and drifting. 
 * The peak in snowfall intensity will occur during the late
   afternoon through the evening...with snowfall at an inch per
   hour rate.
 * Snow will taper off early Monday morning.
 * Total accumulation of 10 to 14 inches...with locally higher
   amounts. 
 * Wind chill falling to about 10 below zero tonight.
Impacts...
 * snow covered roads and reduced visibility will result in 
   dangerous conditions for travel and outdoor activity. 
 * Travel is discouraged during the late afternoon and evening 
   peak of the event. 
 * Increasing difficulty for Road crews to keep pace with high 
   snowfall rates...blowing and drifting. 
Precautionary/preparedness actions...

 * Air temperatures will range between 15 and 23 degrees.

 * visibilities will be near zero at times due to heavy snow. 
   Rapid fluctuations of visibility are likely. 
 * Accumulating snow may lead to slippery roads particularly on 
   bridges...exit ramps...and overpasses.

 * the combination of heavy snow and cold temperatures will 
   result in localized slippery conditions and variable traffic
